Food & drink
Local produce, from the farm next door
With the farm shop next door, the kitchen uses local produce from the fertile Lancashire plain and some of our own meat grown on the farm in Parbold. We welcome drinkers and diners alike.

The garden
A sun trap, with a bowling green
In the summer there is a large garden at the back of the pub, a real sun trap with a well tended but unconventional bowling green, a games lawn and a wildlife area.

Events
An upstairs room for parties
The room upstairs seats up to 40 for a private meal or up to 100 for a casual buffet, with its own bar and up to two of our real ales.

The legend
Why an eagle and a child? The story goes back to the Lathoms and the Stanleys.
